Staycation
This week, Ellis' daycare was closed for staff development. Mike stayed home with Ellis on Monday but then had to leave town for work. So Beth played the single mom for most of the week. But she prefers to think of it as a "staycation." 
Here are the highlights from their week:
1) The Mom Movie in Silver Spring. They convinced Mary and Maeve to play hooky and join them. Melvis played for a while then Ellis took a nap while Beth enjoyed the flick.
2) They also met Caroline and her mother Joanna for lunch. Then -- in a move of infinite mercy -- Joanna and Caroline watched Ellis and let Beth take a nap. Have you ever encountered such wonderful people?
3) They watched the convention. Here is HRC pointing out that her mother was born before women had the right to vote, but her daughter had the chance to vote for her own mother for President. We've come a long way, baby!
