Grandma Visits Ellis
Mike's mom, Shirley, came for a visit this week and it did not take Ellis long to warm up. There were many baby kisses for Grandma and Ellis loooved getting kisses back.
You may be wondering why there is a bandaid over Ellis' right eye. The story goes like this: Ellis and Beth were sitting on the bed and Beth was singing Rainbow Connection while Ellis peacefully lounged. When Beth was finished singing, Ellis sat up, smiled broadly and jumped to her right playfully.
Unfortunately, there was not enough bed to accommodate the leap, and Ellis careened into the edge of the end table, cutting herself. It scared the lights out of everyone.
All this came on the heals of Ellis burning her hands on the radiator the day before. So a traumatic holiday in many respects. But it was good that we had Shirley in town for all of this. She was cool as a cucumber. Apparently, she has seen all this before.
