Mardi Gras

The Os trekked to New Orleans for Mike and Ellis' first Mardi Gras. Both loved it. Ellis talked and talked the whole time. The crowds would be screaming for throws and the bands would be playing, but Ellis would be chirping away as if narrating the whole thing.

Here is Ellis at Babylon with Mike, Carol (MuMu) and Rick (Pops/Grandpa -- undecided). Below that is Beth holding Ellis at the famous Bacchus parade. Val Kilmer was this year's king of Bacchus, but we missed the king's float.


































Here we have one of the first floats at Muses, a really fancy-pants parade with all the prettiest floats, the best throws and all kinds of technicolor. Their signature throw is the shoe -- some stuffed and some decorated. It is like the Zulu coconut. We got a shoe thanks to our Aunt Linda who rides in Muses. The final picture is of the flambeaux in Chaos.
