France/Germany -- Part II
Colmar was our base of operation. Our flat was right was right around the corner from this scene. Ellis was fascinated by the water and fish (that she called "water fish") in the canals that ran through town. Mike and I were fascinated by the wine tasting room next to the canal.

The trip was good. The less good: 1) it was hot and there was no air conditioning and 2) traveling with a toddler requires a lot of planning that we did not do so well. The very good: 1) loved the wine; 2) the medieval towns were beautiful; 3) Mike found some excellent restaurants; 4) the grandparents and Ellis got to bond; 5) European towns place parks and riding toys everywhere for kids; and 6) the break from reality at home was absolutely needed.
