Modeling Mom's Shirt

Ellis grabbed one of her mother's shirts and threw it around her back, striking various poses. Here are a few of the best ones -- she does sheik, shy and attitude. Mike, who conducted the photo shoot, said: "I have worked with better, but not many." We feel that it is always a good day when you can quote "Ghostbusters." But really, when is there a day when you can't find an opportunity to quote "Ghostbusters?"

















We might as well take a moment to tell a couple cute Ellis stories. One, last week while on the metro with Beth, they were practicing new signs from the latest "Signing Time" video. They were practicing "best friend," so Beth asked Ellis who her best friend was. The following conversation ensued:
Beth: "Is your best friend Emmi?"
Ellis: "No!"
Beth: "Is it Lucas?"
Ellis: "No, no..."
Beth: "Then who is your best friend?"
Ellis: [pause with furrowed brow, then with big eyes and hands out] "DADA!"

Two, she loves the Muppet Movie. They were watching the scene where Animal takes thr growth pill and gets as big as a house, scaring off the bad guys and saving the day. Beth said, "Yeay! Animal!" Ellis proceeded, over the course of several days, to randomly scream: "An-mal...Yeay!!!!"

Milestones and cute things:

• Ellis announces that everything is hers.
• She knows the letters L, M, N and O thanks to "Signing Time."
• She can make sounds like a rooster, an owl and a frog.
• And apparently loves dancing to "Dancing Queen."
• Is daring to blow bubbles in the pool even though she doesn't like getting her face wet.
• She will say the word "nice" and then demonstrate it by hugging, kissing and petting someone or something -- her mother, the cat, a stuffed bear or even a book (meaning to hug a character in the book).
• Ellis hugs her friend Emmi goodbye at daycare and sometimes gives her a high five.
