Four Girls, One House
We hosted some friends for dinner on Sunday: Maeve (of Melvis fame), Bridget and Maisie. Ellis took a while to get comfortable sharing her space with others, which tells us that we need to do a lot more of this.

The first picture is staged, with Ellis not cooperating. The pumpkin was a gift from Maisie, Ashley and Carter. We put it outside at the end of the evening a just starred at it for a while.
The second shot was after dinner, watching a little of Horton Hears a Who, which didn't last long.

Third, the girls are drawing and playing.

Fourth, Maeve pushing Ellis in the stroller.

And the last picture is of Ellis and Mike relaxing after everyone went home.
Dinner was ridiculously good, thanks to Mike. He smoked a pork loin, cooked peppers, potato and polenta. Delicious.
We also learned many fun things about the girls. One, Maeve checks her parents for poopy pants. Turn about is fair play. (BTW, Ellis ended the night by telling me she had a stinky diaper -- a first and an indication it is getting close to potty training time.) Two, Bridget likes peas for breakfast, while Maisie prefers peas for smooshing. Three, Bridget likes to scout the room while the other kids play. Four, Maisie is in no way shy. She was more than comfortable with everyone, including the adults, and the chaos upon arrival. Five, all four of the girls will hug.
