Halloween 2009 was a resounding success. We joined the Maisie, Maeve and Bridget clans for the festivities in Mount Pleasant. They close off Lamont Street for trick-or-treat-ing, haunted houses, a costume contest, puppet shows and more. [There are more pictures in the slideshow on the left of the page.]
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost. Ellis dressed as a Ghostbuster. Mike got up at 5:30am on Fri to make the proton pack (from the pack Ellis' Gram gave her, a trash bag and a vacuum cleaner hose) in time for her school Halloween parade.
Maise and Maeve dressed as Ponch and Jon from "Chips." As you can see, they definitely have the chemistry for a buddy movie.
Bridget dressed as a bear but didn't have much use for the costume. Still, she and Ellis had a great time playing with the police tape.
The best part of the night for the parents was having the girls go to sleep upstairs at Karen and Adams' house and letting us enjoy delicious short ribs, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts and cheesecake (even if it wasn't cooled all the way through before refrigerating), fine wine and even finer company. Let's hope this becomes a common occurrence.
