In case you aren't sure what the post below was about, it is a post from Mike. He went to the US-Algeria game. If you click on the link, you will see the reaction of the stadium (and Mike) when the US scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute, courtesy of Landon Donovan.
If you want to see how the rest of us Americans responded, check this video out on USA Today's site, or this one on the Huffington Post. [Hey, Mike: the Huffington Post is looking for other videos of the reaction. I think yours would be a great addition.] Clearly, Americans don't care about soccer. ;-) We were watching all the reactions and Ellis says, "Just like Daddy! And Daddy play soccer with Ellis."
It was so moving for Donovan, it might have led to a reconciliation with his wife. If all that isn't enough, you can follow this link to hear Mike Pensca with NPR report on the game, including an English announcer screaming "USA, USA" and super stoic Coach Bob Bradley get emotional. And finally, President Obama's call to the team, which also mentions former President Clinton's celebration with the team (why does this not surprise me).
