Father's Day Without Father

Mike is still abroad, but Father's Day went on. We were lucky enough to spend it with my dad. We started off with an incredible dinner on Saturday night at Obelisk. As if the 5 courses at Obelisk were not enough, we went to brunch at Drew and Veronica's, where the equivalent of 5 courses was spread out before us. V's delightful parents were in town and we all watched Ellis and MJ cooperate in building tall towers with giant legos. Ellis started off behaving with a maudlin shyness that had to be disciplined. Once she got past it, she had a great time. And I have plans for addressing the over-shyness more quickly in the future.
