Blackberries!

After the park, we ran past the Mount Pleasant Farmers' Market. One thing that we bought were some amazing blackberries that Ellis helped herself to on the way home. As you can see, they left quite a stain on Ellis' face.

Some highlights of late:
  • Yesterday, I asked Ellis whether she wanted to go upstairs or stay downstairs and she shrugged her shoulders. First time I've seen that one.
  • The bad dreams have all but evaporated. She sometimes fusses in her sleep but it doesn't wake her up. It is more like talking in her sleep. Me on the other hand? Ask me about the dream with the tornado.
  • Ellis does not eat for me very much, though she eats plenty at daycare, which drives me a bit nuts. But I know that no kid is going to starve at her or her own hand, so I try not to make a huge deal of it to make sure it doesn't get worse.
  • Ellis' love of dinosaurs continues to grow. Her favorite (today) is agentinosaurus (a sauropod from the late jurasic discovered in, you guessed it, Argentina). She also loves lambiosaurus (a hadrosaur from the late cretaceous) and the idea of fossils (which she calls "possils").
  • Today, we were watching "Dinosaur Train" and the character Shiny was singing a song. I asked out loud but rhetorically what the words were and Ellis just answered me. Just spat out all the words like it was nothing: "I like to sing so free like the be-bop bird at the top of a tree. I found a new way to sing a song." Later, during that same show, the character Buddy asked if any dinosaurs live in the water and she shouts, "Hesperornis! Hesperornis lives in the water!"
  • On the way back from the market to day, Ellis was riding on Mike's shoulder and announced, "We had fun at the market." And, "It is hot today, isn't it?"
