Kriste's Visit

My wonderful friend Kriste came in town this weekend to help Ellis and I forget that Mike is away. We went to the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the Mall, which meant we passed the carousel -- so of course we road it...3 times. This year, the festival profiled Mexico and the cultures of Asian Pacific Americans. We watched some dancing at the Asian Pacific tent before getting some chicken and mole and listening to music at the Mexico tent. Yes, Ellis loved the mole. I'm so proud.








Kriste brought Ellis a wonderful book (that my friend Amy had written 5 years ago and should have published!) called "Goodnight NOLA." Here is a picture of Uncle James reading it to Ellis, under her new umbrella...
