Vacation - Ketchum and Baldy

Our final stop on vacation was Mike's home town of Ketchum. The weather was perfect down there in the Wood River Valley, so we took advantage of it and walked around town.

The next day, we headed up Baldy - the mountain we'd ski on if it were winter. We took their new gondola up to the Roundhouse, which you may have seen in some classic movies. It was built 70 years ago with the resort by Avril Harriman (owner of Union Pacific Railroad and FDR's Secretary of Commerce). You feel transported back to the 40s when you are there -- the 40s with some luxury.

Then we went for a little hike on the mountain. We saw wildflowers, chipmunks, crickets, butterflies and all kinds of wonderful things. The weather couldn't have been prettier.
