Butterflies, Hiding and Waffles

It has been cold in DC. Really cold. Which is not convenient for wearing your toddler out. So we rely heavily on the Smithsonian Museums. Last weekend, we went to the Natural History Museum, which Ellis never seems to tire of. We could go every single weekend and she'd be thrilled. Here is a picture of us in the butterfly exhibit, which is really neat but Ellis finds a bit freaky. She loves the massive, meat-eating dinosaurs; but the butterflies flitting around her head is upsetting.

Nonetheless, the museum worked like a charm. Ellis was wiped out afterward and nearly fell asleep on Mike's shoulder.

Earlier in the morning, she found herself a good hiding spot. With a baby coming, we are going to have to cover those darn plugs again.

The next morning, Ellis helped Mike make waffles and had great fun in the process.
