Play Dates with Maeve
For the past 2 weekends, we have traded kids with Mary and Craig -- one day dropping Ellis off to play with Maeve and another day having Maeve come play with Ellis. Both sets of parents agree that the girls play so well together that it is no harder to care for 2 of them than 1. We also agree that it is nice to have a little time to run errands and relax. And the girls help wear each other out. It is a win, win, win.

For the 1st outing, we took the girls to a fundraiser to help save the kids' play area at the National Zoo. It is at risk due to budget cuts. At the fundraiser, we saw The Great Zucchini perform, who is very silly but fabulous entertainment for the under-5 set.

And of course, we went out for a special burger/hot dog lunch at Z Burger.

When Maeve came over to our house this weekend, we included a bath with the play time. It could not have gone better. They had a blast.

I have no idea why it took us so long to start doing this.
