Princesses and Scarves
Ellis recently decided she doesn't like pants. When we would get home from school, she would take them off within about 15 minutes of arriving home. This extended to PJs -- she would only wear the tops no matter how cold. So I decided that we should buy a nightgown (or as Ellis calls it "pajama skirt"). What I didn't realize is that, these days, the only nightgowns they sell are horrifyingly ugly and all focused on moving product. If you buy PJs with a shirt and pants, you can get flowers or a dog or something subtle. But buy a nightgown and you get this...

A nightgown with 4 princesses: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Tiana. She loves it so much that it turned into a huge blow up when it came time to put on clothing to go to the park to play with Maisie. The park trip didn't happen. She played by herself for hours before she decided it was worth putting on clothing so that we could go visit cousin Ian. [There was also a threat that the nightgown would be thrown away.] Things have gotten better, and there was no fight the next morning.

Ellis also likes scarves. The more dramatic, the better. This is also a good example of the pants ban that recently went into effect.
