Our Babies
This is a picture of our two babies just before Ellis got sick, getting the rest of us sick. Ellis continues to be very sweet to Anders. In fact, she has been very upset that she cannot hug or kiss on him because she got sick. Of course, now he is sick. Oh well.
I am going to post some videos of them. I still need to get a video of the snorting noises Anders makes as well as the cute chirps. The camera is never close by when he starts making noises, and he always stops when I finally locate it and turn it on. I'll work on it.

Anders went to the doctor and is now weighing in at 11 lbs, 15.5 oz -- so we'll just say 12 lbs. He is 22.25 inches long. The doctor says all looks good. His baby acne has cleared up and the cradle cap is going away. But he does have acid reflux. Thanks to our experience with Ellis, we identified it very quickly this time and have started him on Zantac, with improvements almost immediately. As the doctor said, "Try not being cranky when your chest burns every time you eat!" Good point. He is also starting to study our faces and notice things around him. And the other day, I got smile after smile from him by kissing my pointer finger and then placing my finger on his lips. Have I mentioned that he smells good (and just like Mike)? He does.
Ellis has made it to 38 lbs. That kid is big! And I know you are supposed to think your kid is great, but I am really in awe of her. The way she expresses herself, her kindness, her smarts. She is amazing. The other day, she woke up and came into our room. Mike was ready to take her downstairs when she turned to me (still in bed) and said, "Mommy, I am going to go downstairs and close the door to give you some Mommy time. But I will come back soon to give you hugs and kisses."
Of course, she is not always super sweet. When I picked her up from Alastair's house after a play date, the first thing she said when she saw me was, "I don't want to go with you!" When I told her that was the way it was, her answer was, "You are not my friend." I responded, "You are right. I am not your friend, I am your mother." On the walk home, she chanced her mind and announced, "Mommy, you are a very good person." But then a few minutes later, when I told her she couldn't do something dangerous that she wanted to do, she decided that I am "not very nice." So she has opinions, they just aren't constant.
