Some Cute Stories
We have been through an earthquake and a hurricane and several cute stories. First, the earthquake. Ellis was home sick and we were taking a nap. I woke up first and figured out what was going on after ticking through several other options (truck, bomb, etc.). Then Ellis woke up and looked at me. I must have looked calm because she never got upset. AA slept right through it -- enjoyed the rocking.
Ellis is getting more into her little brother. She likes to hug him before we leave in the morning. She also enjoys having him sit up against her stomach and then fall over together. He likes it too.
Before the hurricane hit, we went out to Stead Park hoping there would be soccer. There was not. So Mike and Ellis played a little soccer together in the rain.
Okay, cute stories. Ellis often asks Mike and I what we are talking about. The answer, especially to our most animated conversations, is often, "Politics." Well, she has clearly been listening to the substance of our discussions. The other day, in the midst of one of these political discussions, Ellis asked: "Mommy Daddy," [we are often titles as if we are one entity] "are 'publicans bad guys?" We are so proud.
On a walk home from school this week, Ellis asked me what I had done that day. I told her 2 or 3 things (wrote a memo, had some meetings, read about trains, etc) and she said, "Wow, you did many things!"
As for Anders, he rolled over twice on Sunday. But he can seem to get back into the zone and repeat this feat. He is chewing on everything including Mike's nose, if it comes close to his mouth. Very funny to watch. He is also showing a great deal of interest in food. So next week we are going to start him on cereal. We hope it will help him sleep through the night too, as he has regressed in recent weeks and shows no sign of re-progressing. Mommy needs her beauty sleep.
One last milestone, I am fitting into my suits again. This is not to say my body is back to normal because it is not. Everything is in the wrong place, but at least I can wear my clothes.
