Anders Update

These kids are growing up fast.  How often do we say that?  But every day it is true.  Here they are at the market, playing and eating Pleasant Pops.
Anders is adding words in English and in Spanish.  He says "up," "down," "go," "let's go," "more," which sometimes I confuse with "milk" and require signs to clear up, "agua," "cracker," "mama," and on occasion "dada."  But he is more likely to call Mike "mama" then "dada."  He's got "NO!" down pat.  He screams it while pointing as if to reprimand you.

Then there are the words he gets close on, like Ellis which is "Elya," book which is "booh," ball which is "baw," and vamanos which is "vamo."  And he made up "baba" for pacifier.  He also calls most liquids "agua."  So when he asks for milk, he says, "Agua?" (Big emphasis on the second syllable.)  Then I say, "Water or milk?"  And he says and signs, "Milk?" which sounds more like "mi."

Anders also yells every time he hears a siren in a very un-subtle imitation.  And he loves his sister, often dive-bombing into her for a hug.
Ellis often plays little mama to him, hugging him and picking him up.  She is awfully strong, but not as stable as I'd like.  What she lacks in stability, she makes up in confidence, freaking me out even further.  Anders often wants to know where she is, whether it is in the morning before she has woken up or if she has left the room for a minute.  "Elya" is very important to him.  In fact, sister was one of his first signs.
