Happy 5th Birthday

Ellis had her 5th birthday party a week ago. Her friends from the neighborhood and kids of family friends and Just Us Kids friends joined us at the house.  That is 13 kids between 3 and 5.  Below is the gift that Ellis got from her neighborhood bud, Rexi.  Her dad, Danny, threatened to bring as the present "a noisy pretty, pretty princess toy."  Instead, it was this...

This is Sofie.  She hasn't seen me in a year and still remembered that I sang "Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious."  She requested I do it again.

Here is the whole party, eating king cake.  Did I mention it was a Mardi Gras themed party?  The cake was from La Dolce Nola, a bakery owned by a friend from high school.  It was the first king cake I've had since childhood that wasn't drowned in sugar.  And they put extra babies in the cake for the kids to find.

And everyone made their own Mardi Gras masks.
