Ellis

Ellis like to help with whatever we are doing (especially Mike), whether cooking or painting or gardening or fixing something.  Here she is helping Mike shine their shoes.
Ellis got her hands on my phone and took some candid photos. This is the essence of Ellis.

This little girl has such style.  She picks out her own ensembles every day and puts things together in the cleverest ways for the spunkiest fashions.
This is one such outfit.  The paper she is holding has the 5s circled so that she could learn to count by 5.  She was practicing on the way to school.
This was hanging outside of her classroom.  The paper had a circle on it and each kid had to create a picture from it.  This is what Ellis made...
If that doesn't impress you (and I don't see how that is possible), when I got home from a brief trip to Florida, I was feeling horrible.  I felt so badly that I had to make up a song about my ailments to keep from getting sick on the cab ride home.  Mike took one look at me and sent me to bed.  When I woke up, Ellis had planned a "resting party" for me.  Below is the invite.

It says, "Party for Mommy. Love Mommy. Pretty line rope! Chair! Umbrella Shade! Snacks! Quilt!  Grown-up box!"  As you can see below, all such things had been put together for me by Ellis.  The snacks had already been eaten by the time this picture was taken.  And there were also chairs for the kids but they had been moved for frivolity elsewhere.  Notice that the Ellis dogwood tree (it was a gift from a neighbor when she was born) is flowering in back.
