Bar Mitzvah Time

Sadly, I do not have pictures from the Bar Mitzvah itself.  During the Friday night Shabbat service, both kids were awake and happy as long as there was singing.  When every song ended, Anders would say, "More? More music?" At the actual Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, both kids had spent all morning in the pool and needed naps -- but hadn't gotten them.  So things could have gone terribly, yet they didn't.  Anders fell asleep on my shoulder and slept through the entire service, including when I carried him up to the ark.  Ellis on the other hand, fell asleep on cousin Amy's lap as Amy rubbed her arm and back and lulled her into a nap.
Once the party started, the kids were well rested and excited to celebrate with the (now) man of the hour, Brandon, pictured with us above.  They had tons of swag, and Ellis ate it up. She wanted one of everything.
Anders and his adoring Kackie.  That, my friends, is the proud Kackie look.  It is patented, but Kathy has rights to use it from time to time in order to tease Kackie.
There was a scavenger hunt and the two little girls at the part formed a team with the two...professional partiers?  Not sure what to call them.  But they were absolutely wonderful with the kids, and this team did quite well.
Anders with his Uncle Bobby...
And the kids danced up a storm.  I have video too and will post it.  Seriously, they did amazingly well.  We stayed until 9:30 before heading out to get them home for bed.
