Ellis Update

To prep for her kindergarten year, we got Ellis a fancy haircut.  Here she is sporting it.

This is her first day of school.  I took the day off to drop her off and pick her up.  When I got her and asked her about her day, she called it "brilliant!"  Her new teacher, Ms. Black, has been at the school for 25 years and wanted to be a kindergarten teacher more than anything.  Ellis also has a new principal, Ms. Delabar, who I helped to hire.  She is coming in to a school on the upswing, improving every year.  She is young and full of energy, and we have great hopes for her.

Ellis has never passed up a chance for face-painting.  It is her favorite thing.  And now there is a clown that comes to the farmers' market every Saturday and makes balloon animals and paints beautiful prints like this on kids' cheeks...

The biggest news about Ellis is how much she is learning to do physically.  She is really getting in to playing soccer with me and Mike, she is working hard at mastering the monkey bars and making real progress, and then today she did this...
