Random Stuff

I have started a new job and expect to get back into the groove of posting regularly again.  But there is a lot to catch up on.  First, a cute picture of the kids snuggling with Mike.
Anders in his new superman boots, which he loves.  They are a little big and sometime fall off if I pick him up, which is about the funniest thing ever in Anders' opinion.
Here the kids are with me on my 42nd birthday.  Anders wore underpants for the occasion.  Potty-training is progressing but very slowly. He is actually quite well trained with his nanny, Sulama.  But not so much for his parents.  He has actually said to me: "I use the potty for Sulama, but not for Mama." Other than the rhyme, there is nothing charming about that.  I think he is actually concerned about not being my baby any more, so I am working on making being a big boy more attractive.
The kids love getting their face painted, and getting pictures taken of themselves.  Anders is a dragon.  He is obsessed with dragons of every kind.  He wants a dragon shirt, sheets, swimsuit, songs.  Dragons are big.
Here is me and Anders on an excursion one day.  We just decided to stop and take a selfie.
Here is Ellis with her good friend Quincy on the way to Spring Break theater camp.  Ellis thought she was going to get a top role in the performance of "Two Gentlemen of Verona," but it went to an older kid.  She was cruelly disappointed.  But then she decided to play her small role to the hilt (she was an outlaw), and she did.  Afterwards she told me she really liked playing an outlaw.
Here is Anders with Sulama, his nanny.  As you can see, he really loves her and has a great bond with her.
Here is Ellis with her new mirror from Eastern Market getting ready for school. She gets up, makes her bed and dresses herself these days. She also sits Anders down and fixes his hair.  But this morning, he just played behind her while she got ready.
This is a picture of the first time Ellis read quietly to herself instead of reading aloud and seeking help to sound out words.  She read the whole thing and then wrote a book report.
