Field Day
Each year, our friends organize a field day at Hains Point. It is complete with picnicking, three-legged races, and tug-of-war. Mike also tried out his new camera and got some amazing pictures. The first one is my favorite. It captures Anders' focus and sense of fun all in one beautiful shot. But the second one is adorable too, and great composition. Kudos to Mike for such great photography.
The Ellis-Maeve (Melvis, as you may recall) team reunited for the 3-legged race and dominated it. Below are pictures of their preparation, the excitement during the race and the celebration after. They were so adorable together the entire day. I love the way they interact -- it is so supportive and natural.
Next was tug of war, with the two kids on opposite teams. Ellis took it very, very seriously and felt there was an injustice in the number of adults on the other team.
Then Ellis and Maeve asked to run races around a few trees and showed some serious speed. Ellis also had seemingly infinite energy. In the picture on the bottom, Maeve was starting to tire of this game. Anders followed them every time, sometimes cutting the course in half in order to stay in the game.
