Trip to NOLA

The kids and I flew to New Orleans for my Uncle Mike's memorial service.  That included a very late trip down, and the kids fell asleep on the plane.
While the purpose of the trip was to reflect on our loss, we gained wonderful quality time with our family.  This little vacuum toy was a source of endless fun, but it required the kids to learn how to share.  Kackie was a tough enforcer.
Here is Ellis and Anders with their cousin Allee and their second cousins Mia and Michael.
Anders followed Michael around everywhere, but also was very happy to be with Ian.

This is most of the Osborne-Gordy clan at Camp Salmen, where my dad and his brothers went to boy scout camp as teenagers.  We also got to meet many of the former boy scouts that went to camp with them.  It was poignant, as I've heard stories about my dad and uncle's experiences here for my whole life.  And even though it is no longer the boy scouts' camp site anymore, it meant a lot to me to spend time in a place that has been so important to them.
