Skiing

We wanted to take the kids skiing at Seven Springs in Pennsylvania and got stuck in a massive snow storm about a third of the way there, in Frederick, Maryland.  And not the quaint part.  So we found a Days Inn with a small movie theater across the street and ate a Red Lobster.  Here is Anders at the theater playing a video game.
There was also a huge game room at the hotel at Seven Springs and much fun was had.

We suited up and hit to slopes. The weather conditions were challenging on the first day with the mountain totally socked in and visibility near 0.  The second day was very cold, but not unbearable.  And it was bright and sunny with new snow -- and almost no wait time at any lift.
Both Ellis and Anders took lessons, but Anders really did not get comfortable skiing on his own.  We finally found a way of skiing with him next to Mike with both Mike and Anders holding a ski pole. Anders would laugh most of the way down. Toward the end, he would let go of the pole at the bottom of the hill and ski a bit on his own.
We also got him on a lift but that scared him.  He got more comfortable on our next trip, this time to Liberty.
Ellis was almost too comfortable skiing.  We had to talk her out of taking risks.  But she got very good and worked her way up to the blue slopes. By the trip to Liberty, she made it down a black slope.  Next year, we need to take them out west.
