Reykjavik, Thingvellir & Thermal Pools

Kackie, Pops, Tante, Uncle James and Ian vacationed with us in Iceland and Sweden.  We started in Reykjavik early in the morning and settled into our Airbnb, which thankfully had a hipster coffee shop in the building.

We had a super cool little flat with a great sofa and trundle for the kids.

On our second day in Iceland, we headed over the Thingvellir National Park, where you can see the site of the first parliament in the 10th century and the continental divide between North America and Europe.  Anders, of course, brought a a T-Rex with him (as you do).

The sky was deep blue and the water clear and sparkling. I have never wanted to jump into a creek so much in my life.  I knew it would be freezing cold, but I still wanted to swim in it -- or at least drink it.  It is the Prime Minister's retreat, and seems like a perfect one.

The two cliffs behind us are the continental plates. The walking path is the continental divide.

There is also a beautiful waterfall, Öxarárfoss, that we hiked up. The kids were fearless about it, though it was far from easy.

We finished the day at the Laugarvatn Fontana geothermal bath. Many beautiful people but none as happy as me.
