Skógafoss
As if the first two waterfalls weren't enough, then we met Skógafoss. This is where part of "Thor: The Dark World" was filmed and it was amazing. There is a continuous rainbow at the base of the waterfall. As you approach the waterfall, the water literally takes your breath away, which is scary at first and then a really invigorating.

There is a huge staircase (over 500 steps) up the righthand side of the waterfall. We walked all the way up and discovered the river behind the waterfall, more falls, sheep grazing on the cliff face, rock sculptures, and an incredible hike off into the distance that I wish we could have spent the entire day exploring.
We were wiped out when we were done.
