Viðey Island

We took a ferry over to Viðey, an abandoned island off the coast of Reykjavik. We hiked all sides of this tiny island. My kids are some good hikers, too!

The view of Viðey from the ferry. This angle makes the island look much bigger than it is.

There was a playground with a real see-saw. One that you could actually game to hurl the person on the other side off.  I found myself explaining to the kids how it is done because I honestly believe every kid should know how to do this.

After the playground, we walked all over. Some of the inclines were a little much for Kackie's knee, but she made it almost everywhere.  The kids would have walked the whole island if we had let them.
