New Orleans, Part V -- Iris, Tucks and Farewells

Scott, Hollee, Allison and Baylee came into town and spent the day with us a parades.  We met up with Amy, Colin, Zoe, Ethan and Paul to watch the parades. The piles and piles of junk that we amassed was truly sickening. Anders and Ellis loved it.

Paul and Mike hanging out. It was an incredibly beautiful day, and the view of Uptown and the crazy New Orleanians was gorgeous.
Ellis dancing and Anders admiring one of his catches.
 Where is the next float?
Amy and Zoe, who at 14 is taller than Amy. Her birthday was on Mardi Gras day this year.
 Scotty and the girls.

Anders figured out that costumes made him more visible to the people on the floats.

Zoe's best friend got the best throw of Mardi Gras 2017. The Tucks parade includes a lot of potty humor.  So they always throw toilet paper, plungers, toilet brushes and toilet sun glasses. But this toilet paper would be quite satisfying to use.
The costume gets more elaborate thanks to the parade floats.

We passed the house where we spent Mardi Gras days as a kid. The house was bought by a very rich person who fixed it up and made it exquisite.  Still, I miss those Mardi Gras days.
We finished the day with snow balls, dinner and performances.

Then we had to say goodbye.  It was really hard on Ellis.
